Blue Acre Horse Rescue - Bruno's Story

I am very happy to say that I have recently started volunteering at the Blue Acre Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in Old Windsor. As well as helping out with building shelters and general care for the animlas I am lucky to have been provided with the ultimate training ground for me to practice my art of animal photography whilst hopefully raising awareness for them through my images.

As I work through photographing the many animals that they care for which is by no means limited to horses, I will introduce you to them in a sequence of blog posts. These posts will provide you with pictures and the back stories of these beautiful animals which you will be also be able to sponsor. I hope that you enjoy reading these and if you do then perhaps you can share them with your friends to raise awareness for the great work that they do. I will post their contact info below which will allow you to follow them on social media and get in contact if you would like to show them your support.

For my first post I would like to introduce you to Bruno

Bruno is a 26 year old - Welsh Section B stallion.  Caron (co-founder) rescued him from an uncertain future at an auction many years ago.  He has been an amazing riding and driving pony over the years but has retired from that these days.

Although he is retired, he does still take part in shows occasionally and always comes home with a rosette. Last year he even qualified for the Regional championship veteran class.  He knows exactly what he's doing in the show ring and always makes everyone at Blue Achre so proud of him.

Pictured above is Veanne (the centres rehoming and rehabilitation adviser) working with Bruno in the field.
